Musica!

Yesterday I had my first music class!!! It was so much fun. I was grinning ear to ear the whole time. I got to watch other little kids and play some fun instruments. I also learned that Mommy cannot sing. Oh boy. I've politely indicated to her not to sing in class anymore. I don't want to be embarrassed in front of the other kids or the pretty teacher! I think Mommy really hopes that this will get me to talk someday soon. I don't know about that ... I don't talk now and Mommy anticipates and understands my every move! So what reason do I have to talk?

Florida Fun

We recently returned from a family trip to Florida to visit grandma and grandpa Mickelsen and my great-grandpa. The plane ride was fun ... I got to take a really long nap. Mommy and Daddy say I'm the best traveller. I fell asleep while the plane took off.

We surprised my grandma for her 60th birthday. Boy, was she not expecting us to walk in the door! It was a lot of fun to celebrate with her.

We went to the beach on Monday for grouper sandwhiches (for the adults) and I discovered chicken fingers and BBQ sauce! Yes I am a true Texan.

But I still do not like the beach. I do not like to frolic in the water. I do not like to feel my toes in the sand. I do not like the beach Mack I am.

But I did love playing in the pool! I wasn't sure about it at first (it's really big!) but daddy let me ride on his shoulders and threw me up in the air. I can't wait to go swimming again!

Book Review: Animal Hide and Seek

I come from a family of avid readers and I am proving to be no exception in my love for books. My mommy grew up in a bookstore in Houston. It was all murder mysteries so I am not sure what those are yet. I do know what I like though! So I thought I would share books I have read and let you know if they are worthy of your time or if they are better to be a coaster for your sippy cups. My current favorite is the Animal Hide-n-Seek Touchy Feely book.

It's a board book which is a must for me since I must turn the pages and those skinny pages are too hard to flip. There are lots of different textures, like the corn the hens eat, the ears on the dog, the rough plants that my mommy doesn't know the name of (she makes up a new name every time and thinks I don't catch on!), and the soft little pigs. It captures my attention from beginning to end (all 5 pages of it), so mommy and I get to read it at least 8 times before bed. Mommy really likes it too and there is always another animal sound or color that she points out each time we read it. I highly recommend it!

The great outdoors

I am loving spring time! Mommy and I go outside MANY MANY MANY times everyday to play in my sandbox, to swing, to play ball with Thor, and to just walk all over the yard looking at the leaves, trees, grass, bugs. Or we play with my new favorite ... sidewalk chalk! If mommy isn't paying enough attention when I want to go outside, I just bring her shoes to her and head to the door! Daddy and I play outside too. He likes to chase me and Thor around the yard. Now could someone please do something about this rain so we could get back outside?? Thor and I do not like being kept in!

You should have seen the other kid

Man, it's rough to be the new kid on the playground these days! Anyone know what to do for a swollen lip? Mommy has been trying to keep ice on it but riiiiiight, like I'm going to let her keep that bitter coldness on my lip for more then two seconds! I had such a great weekend too for it to end up like this! My mommy and daddy left me to go watch some cars go round and round a race track. I was so bummed I couldn't go! I love cars!! But daddy says I get to go to a Nascar race in a few years, so I will have to be patient. So back to today, I'm minding my own business and somehow make a teeny misstep and fall on my face on our back patio. No, no kid on the playground. It was all me! But WHERE was mommy? Two steps behind. She needs to learn to keep up!

Easter Egg Hunt

Here I am on my very first Easter egg hunt! I had to show mommy where all the Easter eggs were ... she's not very good at this! And then she took all of my CANDY!! But that's ok because she gave me GRAPES when we got home. Yummmmm .... love me some grapes. I like playing with the Easter eggs. I am not too interested in what is inside. Mommy and I roll them all over the floor and have lots of fun.

My Mommy and Daddy got me THE BEST Valentine's present! It's shiny and red and has 4 tough tires ... it's my ATW (my little all terrain wagon!) I love them! And I love my wagon. If only they would let me sleep in it I'd never leave!
